The Child Find Program at Fort Sanders identifies children between the ages of 3 and 5 with special educational needs. Educational needs are determined through parent interview and child evaluation. Areas evaluated may include, but are not limited to: vision, hearing, speech and language, motor, cognitive, social and adaptive development.
Parents who have educational concerns about school age children who do not attend public school can access special education services by contacting their zoned school. Child referral will be made to the Support Team to review education concerns (see Support Team process link on the Special Education Department page for complete information).
